Contrast: Flyer Design

Students will use the following question to help them reflect on the flyer design they have created. The following gives some examples of how students might respond.

What made the original design unappealing?

·         All the same font type

·         All the text is the same size, there is no hierarchy of information

·         All the text is in capital letters and makes it hard to read at a glance

 

How have I used contrast to improve the flyer design?

·         Contrast in fonts

·         Contrast in font size

·         Contrast in font weight

What did I find difficult or how could my design be improved?

·         I found it difficult to choose the right contrasting fonts

·         It was hard to know what size to make the different bits of information

How will I use contrast in my future designs?
